Violence throughout Iraq Tuesday left at least 12 people dead mostly near the country's capital, according to Reuters.
Northwest of Baghdad, four mortar rounds hit houses in Garma, leaving four dead and wounding six others. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the Shiite government has blamed the attack on Sunni militant groups, including Al Qaeda.
In another attack, a bomb-laden bus exploded in Baghdad's eastern Shiite neighborhood of Talbiya, killing three people and wounding twelve others.
A roadside bomb that was planted to target a police patrol also killed one civilian passerby and wounded five others in the predominantly Shiite Kadhimiya district.
Gunmen in western Baghdad further killed a judge and his driver in the Yarmouk area of the city, and two other gunmen killed two soldiers stationed at a checkpoint in Abu Ghraib in a separate incident.
