An Iranian soccer player in Tehran has been suspended for six months and fined a sum of $1,200 for celebrating his goal by taking his shirt off and pulling down his shorts during the cup match between Saipa and Tehran early on Thursday. Saipa won 1-0.
The nineteen-year-old player, Mohsen Rassuli was charged by the court for breaking the Islam rules, as such behavior in public is totally prohibited.
But, Iran's former national coach Mailikoohan was quoted by the Associated Press as saying that, the court has no right to issue a verdict against the player. "It is up to the disciplinary committee of the soccer federation to punish him."
Although, Rassuli apologized for his abrupt behavior but that will not spare him the punishment.
However, Rassuli is expected to have a hard time, especially with his fans who have reacted violently against his behavior -- Albawaba.com
