Iranian police were deployed at Parliament on Sunday as a group of factory workers, unpaid for more than a year, demonstrated for their salaries for the second time in a week, reported the official Iranian news agency, IRNA.

The laborers from the Jamco men's clothing and Shadanpour shoe factories demanded their salaries and denounced the "incompetence" of the factory's management.

Last month, the same employees staged a similar protest in front of Parliament.

Iran is battling an unemployment rate of around 15 percent, according to official statistics, while unofficial estimates put the percentage higher.
