The Iranian press association denounced in Tehran on Tuesday the murder of U.S. Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl who was kidnapped on January 23 in Pakistan and then killed by his kidnappers.
A statement by the association expressed the Iranian journalists' sympathy and sorrow at the tragic murder of Pearl.
The statement added that reporters worldwide are under constant threat while serving even though there are a number of international laws and regulations that call for guaranteeing their safety.
Pearl, 28, was kidnapped from the Pakistani city of Karachi by unknowns who appealed for the release of Pakistani prisoners held by the U.S. troops. (Albawaba.com)
