European Union (EU) High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana is due to meet Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Seyed Kamal Kharazzi on Monday in Brussels, according to a press release issued by Solana's office on Friday.
In addition, Kharazzi is expected to meet EU Commission President Romano Prodi, Commissioner for External Relations Chris Patten and Commissioner for Trade Pascal Lamy in the course of his two-day visit to Brussels, EU sources said, according to the official Islamic Republic News Agency.
The Iranian minister's visit comes a month before Tehran and the EU are to begin negotiations on a cooperation and trade agreement as well as a human rights dialogue in December, IRNA news agency added.
Moreover, Kharrazi is set to meet his Belgian counterpart, Louis Michel, and the Belgian Parliament's President Herman de Croo to discuss progress in Belgium-Iran bilateral ties and cooperation. (Albawaba.com)
