ALBAWABA - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian arrived on Wednesday night in New York, the United States amid ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza.

Iran's FM was quoted by IRNA: "The situation in the West Asia region has reached a worrying point, and there is a possibility that control will slip out of the hands of all parties."

Amir-Abdollahian further added that the Iranian mission in New York made great efforts to veto the U.S. draft resolution on Gaza.

Furthermore, Russian President Vladimir Putin also decried the situation in the Gaza Strip and described it as a "humanitarian catastrophe".

The Russian leader met with representatives of different religions in the capital Moscow and added: "Innocent people must not pay for crimes committed by others."

"The main task is to stop the bloodshed and violence. Otherwise, a further expansion of the crisis is fraught with grave and extremely dangerous, destructive consequences, and not only for the Middle East region. This could spill far beyond the borders of the Middle East," Putin stressed during the meeting.
