Two embassy cars, belonging to the Iranian and Albanian diplomatic missions in Greece, were torched by suspected anarchists overnight in the capital Athens, police officials said Thursday.
No one was hurt in the arson attacks but the cars, which were parked close to each other, were seriously damaged, police said.
Initial reports indicated the vehicles had been doused in petrol and set alight.
An anonymous caller claiming to be from the Black Star anarchist group phoned the Athens radio station Flash and claimed responsibility for the attacks.
The Black Star group, one of whose members is being held by Greek police, has claimed previous similar attacks on embassy cars -- ATHENS (AFP)
