Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi said on Sunday Tehran had not resumed uranium enrichment yet. "The question of using some centrifuges is different from enrichment. The issue is the research activities Iran has resumed. This is different from uranium enrichment. Iran will continue its research work and will not suspend it in the face of pressures," he said, according to IRNA.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Republic's nuclear chief said Sunday that Russia and Iran had agreed in principle to establish a joint uranium enrichment venture, Russian news reports said. Gholamreza Aghazadeh, who leads Iran's Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, said the two sies had agreed in principle on Moscow's proposal to enrich Iranian uranium in Russia, the ITAR-Tass and Interfax news agencies reported.
Previous talks on the Moscow offer brought no significant progress.
