Iran and Yemen will sign an agreement on bolstering ties in the fields of economy and trade on Monday, at the end of the fifth joint economic commission meeting which started Sunday in Tehran, reported the official Iranian news agency (IRNA).
The meetings are co-chaired by Iran's Agricultural Jihad Minister Mahmoud Hojjati and Yemeni Minister of Planning and Development Ahmad Mohammad Sufan.
The Yemeni minister said there were bright prospects for Tehran-Sanaa ties, adding that Iran had held 14 trade exhibitions in Yemen in recent years.
Sufan also said that the volume of annual bilateral trade has currently reached $25 million, up from just $1 million a few years ago.
For his part, Hojjati expressed Iran's readiness to share experiences with Yemen.
The Iranian minister expressed hope that the two countries would further upgrade their present volume of bilateral trade, according to IRNA.
Meanwhile, both sides expressed hope that the outcome of the joint economic commission would be fruitful and lead to further expansion and consolidation of economic and commercial relations between Iran and Yemen – Albawaba.com
