Speaker of the Iranian Majlis Mehdi Karroubi, currently on a visit to Saudi Arabia, conferred on Tuesday with Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah ibn Abd Al-Aziz As-Sa'ud on issues of mutual interests.
The official Iranian news agency reported that both sides underlined the need to expand political relations between their countries, and called for further deepening and broadening cooperation at the regional level as well as in Islamic countries.
A key point of agreement was on the ongoing defamation of the Moslem world. The Saudi crown prince condemned the current anti-Islam propaganda campaign and called for joint efforts to remove existing problems. The Iranian Majlis speaker, for his part, called the existing situation of the Islamic states as sensitive and described the stance of the two countries as very close
