Iran has detained at least 10 reformist leaders, a party member said, after President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's won Friday's election. According to AFP, Iranian police have rounded up at least 10 leaders of two reformist groups who backed ex-premier Mir Hussein Mousavi. "At least 10 members of the Islamic Iran Participation Front and the Islamic Revolution Mujahedeen Organisation were arrested yesterday," Rajab Ali Mazroei, a member of the front told the news agency.
There are some reports that Mousavi was put under house arrest.
Mousavi slammed what he branded a "rigged" vote but he had urged his supporters to stay calm and show restraint. Meanwhile, according to al Jazeera TV, the streets of the Iranian capital were quiet on Sunday morning.
