Thousands of demonstrators will fill the streets of Tehran Thursday dressed in black to mourn the eight people that have died in election protests at the request of Presidential candidate Mir Hossain Moussavi.  The reformist leader, who made the announcement on his personal website, called for new elections after declaring the election on Friday was rigged.

After meeting in mosques around the city, demonstrators will flock to the city square in central Tehran for the sixth straight day.  Thursday’s rally is expected to be the largest protest since Friday’s election.  In his website statement, Moussavi requested these rallies remain peaceful.

Support for protests has risen all over the world, and cyberspace.  Millions of web users have responded to the call to “go green for Iran freedom!” to show solidarity with the Iranian protesters using websites like Facebook and Twitter.
