Iran president voices desire to boost ties with Ivory Coast

Ivory Coast`s Foreign Minister Bamba Mamadou and Iranian President Mohammad Khatami in a meeting in Tehran Wednesday discussed issues of joint concern.  

 

According to a report released by the Presidential Office Media Department, in the course of the meeting, the president referred to expansion of relations with southern countries, in particular African states, as one of Iran`s major foreign policies and reiterated the need to strengthen relations between Iran and the Ivory Coast.  

 

Turning to the good potentials of the Ivory Coast, he hoped that the country would manage to overcome the current crises and expedite the national development trend, IRNA reported.  

 

He said that attempts to develop the country will be in the interest of the Ivory Coast`s people and the African continent. In addition, he stressed that the mutually signed agreements should be implemented.  

 

On his part, Bamba Mamadou referred to the strong determination of the officials of both countries for exapnding mutual ties and cooperation.  

 

Appreciating Iran`s supports and humanitarian aid to his country, the minister called for use of Iran`s expertise and potentials in various sectors. (Albawaba.com)
