A senior Iranian official Saturday accused US rulers of lying and dismissed the suggestion of any Iranian link to Al Qaeda as hinted in the latest 9/11 Commission report.
Parliament Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel said allegations that Iran had facilitated the transit of Al Qaeda members in and out of Afghanistan in a plan which led to the September 11, 2001 attacks were no more than "electioneering propaganda."
"While US authorities' lies to their own people and their
scandals have become talk of the town, how could they expect world people to trust them? "It is surprising that the American rulers are still ignorant of the fact that their words have no credibility in the world public opinion," he added, according to IRNA. (albawaba.com)
