Iran not enthusiastic to hold negotiations with USA

Iran on Friday said it does not regard as a concession the proposal for holding talks with the United States. Former Iranian president, Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani made the disclosure at his Friday prayers sermon to large groups of worshipers at Tehran University campus.

"The US officials should not think that we are enthusiastic to hold negotiations with them and that they are giving concessions to Tehran on Iraq through the negotiation proposal," he said, according to IRNA.

And Rafsanjani added, "Following incorrect policies of the US, its officials who were not interested even in looking at Iranians' face, now say in general that they are ready to hold talks with Iran on Iraq."

"George Bush's policies on the world and the Middle East region inflicted the most damage to the US nation," Rafsanjani stated.
