The fifth meeting of Iran-Kuwait Commercial Cooperation Commission, attended by deputy commerce ministers of the two countries, is to be held in the capital of Kuwait on Monday.
According to Iranian reports, the commission will focus on expansion of bilateral commercial ties, determining preferential tariffs on goods traded between the two countries, transportation, visas for Iranian businessmen intending to visit Kuwait, banking cooperation and holding trade weeks in the two countries.
Tehran Times said that the deputy commerce minister, Abdol Hossein Vahaji, would head the Iranian economic delegation, which comprises 35 experts from private and public sectors, to Kuwait.
The delegation will spend four days discussing ways of expanding bilateral commercial ties.
Citing official statistics, the value of annual bilateral trade between Iran and the neighboring Arab country has increased from $70 million in 1998 to $110 million this year.
In May 2001, the Iranian vice president for legal and parliamentary affairs, Hijatul Islam Muhammad Sadouqi, paid an official visit to Kuwait to enhance bilateral ties – Albawaba.com
