An Iranian man convicted of killing his son and wife, was publicly hanged in the north of Iran on Wednesday. He was hanged after the state Supreme Court upheld the death sentence issued by a local tribunal, said the Iranian official news agency (IRNA).
The murderer, who was addicted to illegal drugs, killed his nine-year-old son and 28-year-old wife last February. According to the Islamic Sharia law, murder carries death penalty. A convicted murderer, however, can escape death if pardoned by the family of the victim.
The same law is applied by the Sunni Saudi Arabia. (Albawaba.com)
