ALBAWABA - As tensions between Tehran and Israel rise, Iran will suspend all flights from Sunday night until Monday morning.
Al Jazeera reports that the U.S. has provided Israel political and military incentives to avoid attacking Iranian sites. As Israeli military authorities prepare for a reaction, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant will visit Washington to address rising tensions.
The Civil Aviation Organization of Iran said that all flights from Iranian airports will be canceled from 9 PM Sunday to 6 AM Monday due to "operational constraints" without providing specifics. Iran and Israel are preparing for the aftermath of recent missile exchanges.
An Iranian security official warned Turkish media that Israeli retribution would be minimal. He said Tehran expects Israel would avoid attacking important political, military, or strategic installations to avert war. The person said Israel may execute small-scale attacks to protect its image and avoid a larger conflict.
According to Al Jazeera, Iranian President Masoud Bezhkian claimed the missile assault on Israel was designed to stop Israeli "aggression" and prevent additional strikes. Bezhkian stressed that the attack solely targeted military installations within international law. He also lambasted Western countries, particularly the U.S., for pushing Iran to control itself instead of denouncing Israel.
Iranian military chiefs have warned. Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi warned that any Israeli reprisal will prompt Iran to respond even stronger, assuring that Israel faces significant repercussions if it continues its military attacks.
Israeli media, including Channel 13, said that Gallant would meet U.S. officials this week to discuss Iran. Israeli military sources told Israel Hayom that although Israel does not want a long-term war, it will react with enough force to deter Iran.
Al Jazeera stated that Washington has promised Israel military backing and aid in return for restraint to prevent regional violence.
