Te Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, met on Saturday, November 5, with the Iraqi deputy prime minister and Head of National Congress, Ahmed Chalabi, in Teheran. The Iranian president, reports the <i>Islamic Republic News Agency</i>, stated the Iran support Iraq’s struggle for independence, freedom and stability, emphasizing that the establishment of ‘a powerful government in Iraq’ is in the best interest of the all region.
The Iranian President also underlined the need to expend the bilateral economic and trade relations and announced that Iran is prepared to lend Iraq its expertise in various economic spheres and assist it in its transit needs.
