ALBAWABA - Iranian media reported Tuesday that sounds of explosions were heard on Iran's Qeshm Island.
The causes behind the blasts are unknown.
U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that he had called off scheduled attacks on Iran on Monday as "serious negotiations" were taking place.
Since the war started, Iran has blockaded the Strait of Hormuz, through which around 20 percent of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas passes. In response, the U.S. military later launched its own naval blockade on the waterway.
In addition, a senior Iranian official said the Strait of Hormuz will "forever remain in the possession and management" of Tehran.
