Iran has successfully test-fired a solid-fuelled surface-to-surface missile, the official IRNA news agency reported on Friday.

Ahmad Vahid, head of Iranian Defense Ministry's aerospace industry organization, was quoted as saying that the missile, dubbed Fateh (Conqueror) A-110, is "the latest achievement" of the local defense industry. "Given the missile's precision, we can definitely announce that Fateh A-110 is among the most precise surface-to-surface missiles in the world," Vahid was quoted as saying.

He added a line would be launched shortly for mass production of Fateh missiles, which is built with local know-how in design and production.

Iran is only after establishing a deterrent force against futurethreats and crises, Vahid noted. (Albawaba.com)
