Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi said on Sunday the second round of talks between Tehran and Moscow will be held on February 16 as it had been scheduled previously. Referring to the Russian nuclear proposal after the Saturday resolution of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to report Iran's case to the UNSC, he said, "Conditions have changed. We are faced with new situations."
According to IRNA, he said the Russian proposal should be adapted to the new conditions. "In case it is adapted with the new conditions, it can be discussed and reviewed," Asefi told domestic and foreign reporters.
Earlier, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a letter to the head of Iran Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO) ordered the rescinding of the voluntary suspension of the Additional protocol to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and other related cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Organization (IAEA).
He also mandated the IAEO to begin earnest implementation of all search and development and preparatory work for use of nuclear fuel technology for peaceful purposes.
It should be mentioned that following the voting, deputy secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) and spokesperson for the Iranian negotiating team, Javad Vaeidi, said that resumption of full enrichment process will be the first consequence of this resolution. He referred to it as a political move on behalf of certain countries.
