Iran is concerned about the Israeli growing involvement in the Indian subcontinent. Iran’s Foreign Minister Deputy, Sadeq Kharrazi, has called on the Islamic states to be sensitive towards this issue.
Addressing the second round-table discussions on Iran -Pakistan cooperation, he announced Tehran's political readiness to help settle the current Indo-Pakistan dispute.
Peres Comments
While visiting in India, Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres on Monday stated though Pakistan had initiated certain steps against terrorist outfits operating in that country the international community would be satisfied only when all forms of terrorism are uprooted.
"In general terms, Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf himself has already taken some action...Satisfaction will come when all forms of terrorism is uprooted," Peres told reporters following his meeting with India's Home Minister L.K.Advani.
Peres said, "The World is no longer divided between east and west, north and south. The new division is between countries that harbor terrorists and countries which fight them," reported Press Trust of India (PTI).
The Israeli minister refused to answer directly to a question whether he discussed the prospects of defense collaboration between India and Israel, but conveyed "We are on the same side of the boundary. We don't fight against any religion but fight against terrorism." (Albawaba.com)
