Iranian Defense Minister Ali Shamkhani said on Wednesday a newly tested surface-surface missile has a 200 kilometer range, the official news agency IRNA reported.

"It has high technical capability to the extent that it does not need updating for at least seven years", Shamkhani said. Tehran announced on Friday it had successfully tested the missile, but did not provide any details on its range or size.

The head of the Aerospace Industrial Organization, Ahmad Hamidi, said at the time the weapon was very precise and that production on a large scale would soon begin. (Albawaba.com)
