Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi was on his way to New Delhi on Sunday for talks with Indian officials expected to cover bilateral ties, the escalating tension between India and Pakistan and the reconstruction of Afghanistan.

Moreover, Kharazi is expected to chair the 5th meeting of the Iranian-Indian commission during his visit that is expected to last several days, ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Assefi said.

Shortly after Kharazi's visit was announced, Tehran condemned the latest suicide bombing in disputed Kashmir Tuesday, which left 35 dead, and called on both sides to exercise restraint, AFP said.

Iran has good relations with India, but nevertheless supports the principle of self-determination for Kashmir. (Albawaba.com)
