Iranian Defense Minister Ali Shamkhani will visit Moscow in early October after postponing the visit last month, according to the official Iranian news agency (IRNA), citing a Russian report.
The Russian Defense Ministry's press service told the Russian news agency, Itar-Tass, that a precise date for the visit "is not determined yet."
The Iranian embassy in Russia also did not give a specific date, said IRNA.
Under the plan for Russian-Iranian military cooperation, Shamkhani's visit was scheduled for September 4-8. However, the defense ministry's press service said the visit was "delayed at the request of the Iranian side."
The minister postponed his visit as it coincided with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s trip to Moscow.
Meanwhile, an Iranian ministry source described Russia's relations with Iran as "constructive and stable, positively influencing stability and security of the whole region."
Russia is going "to develop military-technical cooperation with Iran, primarily in the field of deliveries of defensive systems on the basis of international obligations on non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and missile means of their delivery," he said.
