International Year of Microcredit celebrated in Tunisia

International Year of Microcredit 2005 was celebrated in Tunis on Friday September 9. Within the framework of these celebrations, the governorate of Tunis organized a conference with the participation of a number of organizations in the sector such as the Tunisian Bank of Solidarity and Enda Pan-Arab Association, which are two principal organizations that grant microcredits. La Presse reports that 2005 was announced as the International Year of Microcredit by the United Nation in order to provide greater access to credits, savings and other financial services for low-income families.
