The international union for businesswomen has chosen Cairo as venue to hold its Arab and African regional conference on October 29.

The conference is co-organized by the Egyptian Central Society for Businesswomen on October 29, the daily Al Ahram said.

The assembly will attract the participation of 500 figures representing 45 countries, it added.

The conference will discuss the enhancement of the woman’s role in development throughout the world, highlighting successful experiences in countries like Egypt.

The head of the International Union for Businesswomen, which groups 108 member countries, Pat Harrison said that Egypt had been chosen to host the conference in light of the successful cooperation between the Egyptian government and private sector to promote the role of woman in the economic sector as a vital element for progress.

“The conference is held periodically and the country to host it is chosen on the basis of its success in support of the woman’s role in development,” Harrison added.
