A High level Indonesian government delegation completed an exploratory visit to Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone Authority (RAK FTZA).

The purpose of their visit was to discuss cooperation opportunities with RAK FTZ, following the recent meeting of His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, with the President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

The delegation, which was led by Drs. Karsono, Head of Foreign Trade Division, was given an overview of the facilities and met with Chief Executive Officer, Oussama El Omari and other senior officials at the RAK FTZ headquarters in Ras Al Khaimah.  In their talks with RAK FTZA officials, which focused on investment opportunities and the sharing of expertise, the delegation expressed their interest in how RAK FTZ operates, asking questions across the board.

Because of RAK FTZ’s impressive track record and growth, the delegation was interested to learn about the Free Zone’s achievements, especially in relation to quality and value addition.

Commenting on the visit, El Omari, said; “With only a few Indonesian companies operating in Dubai, our meeting focused on how to expand this relationship, by creating a platform for the exchange of ideas and information that will further cooperation between the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and  Indonesia.”

El Omari further added; “We are very proud to be chosen as a positive role model for emerging free zones across the globe and are happy to share our experience.”
