ALBAWABA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto expressed his willingness on Wednesday to temporarily receive a number of Palestinians affected by the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.

Prabowo announced in a statement issued at the start of his foreign tour, which includes the Middle East and Turkey, that "the first phase may include receiving approximately 1,000 Palestinians."

He confirmed directing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to quickly begin consultations with the Palestinian side and other relevant parties to explore methods for evacuating Palestinians and transporting them to Indonesia.

Furthermore, he also stressed that his country was prepared to host the wounded, those suffering from psychological trauma, and orphans.

Prabowo Subianto pointed out that their stay in Indonesia would be temporary, until they fully recover and the situation in Gaza stabilizes, allowing for their safe return.
