After successfully carving a niche for haute couture in India, Manish Malhotra, India’s leading fashion design and style icon, is opening his flagship store in Dubai, called “Manish Malhotra”, which will offer avant-garde garments and accessories for the Arab world. Inspired by the latest urban trends of contemporary design from the West and combining extravagant Arabic fashion, “Manish Malhotra”, which will be located at Jumeirah, will open during the end of June and will have Saif Belhasa Group of Companies as its franchisers for the Middle East & GCC.
Manish Malhotra has been successfully retailing across the Indian cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad. The Manish Malhotra store in Dubai will promote an entirely new line of garments and fashion accessories with fresh patterns and designs, that are designed for a diverse target group including Arabs and Westerners in the region. His fine eye for design and complimentary form will be reflected in the new store showcasing a wide range of designer Abayas, Shelas and Scarfs along with Manish Malhotra’s skirts, tunics, sarees, dresses in unusual colour combinations & prints - all that Manish Malhotra’s label is famous for.
Speaking at the launch, Manish Malhotra said, “This city never ceases to amaze me. Every time I visit Dubai, I am taken aback by its incredible pace of growth, the towering skyscrapers and the cosmopolitan environment. From a fashion point of view, Dubai is certainly on its way to catching up with the fashion capitals of the world like Paris, Milan and New York, mainly because the city’s population is made up of people from every corner of the globe – resulting in a convergence of cultures, traditions and customs.”
“I am also glad to partner with the Saif Belhasa Group of Companies as my exclusive franchiser for the Middle East & GCC, and especially with Sarah Rashid, who has a fine eye for details and a good understanding of the emerging trends in the Middle East fashion industry. I am confident that the success of this store will step up our plans of expanding our presence in other parts of the UAE and rest of the GCC,” he added.
Working with Saif Belhasa Group of Companies, Manish plans to accelerate the development of his label as a global brand, building on its exceptional fashion lineage. His relationship with the Middle East’s fashion industry took off when he organized two shows in the region showcasing his exclusive garments. Further, he will also be displaying his brand at the fashion event of the upcoming IIFA awards 2006 in Dubai.
Sarah Rashid, highlighting Manish Malhotra’s partnership with Saif Belhasa Group of Companies said, “We are very happy to acquire the exclusive franchise rights of the new store and be associated with a brand whose uniqueness lies in its adaptability to various occasions and diverse cultures. Manish Malhotra is the only designer who has successfully managed the delicate balance between costume designing and mainstream design, and we are confident that with our franchise rights, we will be able to provide him all the resources and complete support necessary to penetrate the Middle East market.”
