The uncle of a man who is alleged to have blown himself up outside a synagogue on the Tunisian isle of Djerba, killing himself and 18 other people, is set to appear in court charged with withholding information about the blast, according to the state-run press.
According to Le Temps newspaper, the uncle of Nizar Ben Mohamed Nasr Nawar, 24, whose charred body was found near a truck that exploded outside the Ghriba synagogue on the island in April, killing 18 other people including 14 German tourists, is to appear in court in Tunis on July 11.
He will answer charges of "concealing information concerning the preparation of a crime and complicity in preparing terrorist acts," the paper said.
The attack on the synagogue is believed to have been carried out by the al-Qaeda group, which has since claimed responsibility for it. Nizar's uncle was arrested just days after the attack, but officials have not released his identity. (Albawaba.com)
