Human rights activists in Yemen have expressed outrage over what they say is the banning of the first issue of a monthly human rights publication, reported the BBC.online.

A member of parliament belonging to a human rights group, Mohamed Naji Alaw, told The Associated Press that the removal from sale of the new magazine was a violation of the constitution, the news service quoted him as saying.

Mr Alaw, who's also a lawyer, has written to the new state minister for human rights, Wahiba Fare, to complain. Officials at the information ministry were quoted as saying the publication, the first regular edition of its kind in Yemen, breached the press law – Albawaba.com
