Houthi militants in Yemen’s Aden killed at least 12 civilians overnight Tuesday, according to Reuters.
Local residents said the rebel tanks advanced towards the city’s centre while the Saudi-led coalition airdropped weaponry to anti-Houthi fighters in Taez.
Dozens of families reportedly fled the area as the Shia group continued to shell government buildings in Aden.
“The world, the coalition and the United Nations need to step in urgently to save our neighborhood, which has truly become a disaster area after this indiscriminate shelling,” a resident told Reuters.
The Saudi-led coalition of Arab countries has been bombing Yemen for weeks despite no viable progress toward peace talks.
