ALBAWABA - Yemen's Houthi group announced on Saturday the killing of Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi, in addition to several other ministers, in Israeli airstrikes that were carried out last Thursday.
According to local Yemeni media, Israeli airstrikes on Aug. 28 targeted a government workshop in western Yemen and killed the head of the Houthi government and several other ministers.
The Houthi-run presidency said in a statement: "We announce the martyrdom of the Mujahid Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahwi, Prime Minister of the Government of Change and Construction, along with a number of his fellow ministers."
The statement also read: "The Israeli enemy targeted the Prime Minister and a number of his fellow ministers during a routine workshop to evaluate the government's activity and performance during its year of operation."
In addition, the Houthis said that a number of ministers sustained moderate and serious injuries and are receiving medical care, stressing that government institutions will continue their work despite the losses, and that "the blood of the martyrs will be an incentive to continue on the same path."
