ALBAWABA – Say a little prayer for Lebanon! There is no medicine in Lebanon and if there is its, very little. The medical sector is collapsing because of the country’s economic crisis and the downward spiral is bottomless.

One story run by currently running by AP and making headways on the social medias is plainly titled “Lebanese hospitals at breaking point as everything runs out” describing the dismal state of Lebanese hospitals and its medical sector that is near collapse.
Lebanese hospitals are running out of everything: Air conditioners are turned off, except in operating rooms and storage units to save on fuel. Medics scramble to find alternatives to saline solutions and shelves with critical drugs are bare. By @seldeeb. https://t.co/PLcYtHJTB0

The article is being shared literally – not an understatement – by every who cares for Lebanon. One simply says this article is devastating.
Devastating piece from @seldeeb in Beirut .... “Our country is disintegrating in front of our eyes ...” https://t.co/BVDqgZREYc

There is very little commentary or opinion except for quotes taken for the article that graphically underlines the deteriorating situation, the fact there is no medicine, few medical staff because everyone is leaving, there is no electricity, no fuel and the fact that hospitals have to operate in the dark with air conditioners turned off except in operating theaters.

The collapse is all the more dramatic since only a few years ago, Lebanon was a leader in medical care in the Arab world. The region's rich & famous came to this small nation of 6 million for everything, from major hospital procedures to plastic surgeries.https://t.co/TebogmFDvV

Another one says our country is disintegrating in front of our eyes and we can't do anything to stop it.
“Our country is disintegrating in front of our eyes,”″ he said. “The most difficult part is ... we can’t seem to be able to find a way to stop this deterioration.”https://t.co/ztNw8TQSJg

Many point out that a few years ago Lebanon was the envy of the Arab world with many – the rich and famous - coming here for their medical operations but no more.
My Lebanese friend tells me things are really bad there, no government, local currency is worthless, no electricity, plus the virus. https://t.co/RTCYMlne9I

Today, it is reported that 2,500 and nurses have left the country this year alone.
A frightening portrait of the state of hospitals in Lebanon by @seldeeb as the country runs out of everything including money, medicine, electricity and fuel for generators. Medical staff exhausted and demoralized, looking for way to leave the country. https://t.co/YFBnbBDpJv

Health officials reported in June that Lebanon was already missing 70% of its medicines and medical supplies.
