ALBAWABA - The leader of the Hong Kong Opposition party Chan Po-ying was arrested on Sunday.
Chan Po-ying, who is the leader of Hong Kong's opposition League of Social Democrats party was detained on the 34th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square crackdown, AFP reported.
The activist was commemorating the anniversary of June 4, 1989, with a small LED candle and two flowers when policemen arrested her.
Hong Kong Free Press confirmed the arrest of Po-ying during an event to mark Tiananmen Square crackdown. The newspaper added that Chan was wearing a black dress and a black facemask when she was taken by policemen.
Furthermore, nine other pro-democracy members were also arrested by the police on Sunday as they took part in the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square crackdown.
