Honeywell (NYSE: HON) is now accepting scholarship applications from exceptional middle school science and math teachers (pupils between the age of 11 and 15) from across the globe to attend the 2007 Honeywell Educators at Space Academy program taking place from June 18 to June 29, 2007 at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville.
Scholarship recipients will complete an intensive educator curriculum focused on space science and exploration in addition to participating in real-life astronaut training. Teachers can apply online at www.honeywell.com/hhs for the scholarships, which include complete tuition for the program, roundtrip airfare, meals, accommodations and program materials. Applications will be accepted until 17 January 2007.

During the program the select group of teachers will participate in a variety of activities including 40 hours of classroom, laboratory and field training. They will also have the unique opportunity to participate in astronaut training exercises including a high-performance jet simulation, scenario-based space missions, land and water survival training, and a state-of-the-art flight dynamics program.
