In recognition of 68 employees who have completed twenty-five years of professional service, Hamad Medical Corporation today held a well-attended Long Service Award Ceremony at La Cigale Hotel in Doha.

HMC has made tremendous strides in three decades of service and has grown from its infancy as a community hospital to a world class healthcare provider in Qatar and the region. Demonstrating an unflinching commitment to the pursuit of Health, Education and Research, HMC credits its outstanding achievements to the dedication and expertise of its staff.

“Our accomplishments are due to the talent, ability and determination of our staff operating in all functions from medical, clinical and allied health to administration and support services,” said Dr. Hanan Al Kuwari, HMC Managing Director, in her address to attendees.  “You have lived through the many changes that have taken place at HMC, and have been a guiding light to your colleagues and a great influence in the course of our growth and development as a healthcare institution.

“Sharing your hard-earned knowledge in your profession, your wisdom and insight gained from your long experience with HMC, you have helped to forge and strengthen its foundations.  Your passion and dedication have been instrumental in our many successes over the past 25 years.”

The awards initiative for employees who have been with HMC for 25 years or more was first launched in December 2008.  “We had an amazing 600 employees who were honored just over a year ago,” said Aisha Said Al Abdulla, Acting Executive Director of HMC’s Human Resources Department.  “They felt so appreciated and happy that HMC demonstrated its commitment to them, and that we value them for their service and contribution.”

“These employees have the histories, they have the knowledge of the organization and the community; and they are used to the HMC environment and culture. Their long tenure has been very beneficial as they play an important role in training other staff.” Al Abdulla added. “I am pleased that this year again we have many Qataris among the awardees and they are a testament to many of our nationals who are committed to developing Qatar’s healthcare sector.”

The HMC management has decided to make the award ceremony an annual event to recognize the employees’ significant contributions to the company. This year, the event was attended not only by the awardees but also by their families, friends and colleagues.

“Moving forward there will be other initiatives to reward employees according to performance,” Al Abdulla continued.  “We want to be seen as a company which values our staff and encourages them to remain an important team member within the large and growing HMC family.  Our aim is to send a strong message that we value commitment, dedication and experience.”
