Hizbullah is providing "every type of support" to Hamas, the Lebanese group No. 2, Sheikh Naim Qassem, said in an interview with the Financial Times on Wednesday. "It is one of the secrets of the resistance that we don't talk about the details of our support, but suffice to say that we are giving them every type of support that could help the Palestinian resistance," Hassan Nasrallah's deputy was quoted as saying. "Every type that is possible."

"We have always said that we supported the resistance in Palestine but we have not mentioned how or given details of such support," Qassem said.

Meanwhile, Israel decided to delay the discussion of a possible pullout from the Lebanese side of a divided border town, fearing Hizbullah will take control of the territory, an Israeli official said on Wednesday. According to him, Israel will wait until after Lebanon's June 7 elections to resume the discussions, said the official. A similar report was published Wednesday in the Beirut-based a Safir newspaper, saying Israel conveyed to the U.N. that the planned withdrawal will not take place until the elections.
