H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, has agreed to take up the role as honorary president of the Sharjah Tatweer Forum (Tatweer). The announcement came when a delegation from Tatweer visited him to update him on the Forum’s activities, plans and strategies for the year 2007.
During the meeting, His Highness stressed on the importance of developing the skills and competency of Sharjah’s National youth through the provision of educational programmes and specialised projects which will ensure the sustainable development of Sharjah from a social, educational and economic perspective. He also spoke about the importance of facilitating communication between National youth and the different sectors in order to help develop an active society that supports the growth of the emirate.
His Highness also emphasised the importance of building partnerships between the private and public sector and lauded the role played by Tatweer in setting up a mechanism that supports this partnership. In this context, he has extended his full support to the Forum to help it efficiently execute its future strategy.
The delegation expressed their gratitude for H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi’s visionary leadership and continued support towards the goals of the Forum and for assuming the role of honorary president, which they believe will encourage members to work even harder to achieve set goals and to promote the emirate’s competitive advantages. The delegation also expressed its keenness to actively participate in supporting His Highness’ vision and to work in accordance with his directives, in order to support the emirate’s sustainable development while developing the role of National youth.
The Tatweer delegation highlighted the various accomplishments of the Forum during the past year and also provided a synopsis of Tatweer’s first Annual General Assembly meeting held recently. During the Annual General Assembly meeting, members discussed Tatweer’s achievements, approved its work agenda and developed a marketing strategy. They also discussed the goals and results of projects and activities undertaken last year, and the goals and suggested mechanism for implementing future projects. Additionally, the members discussed opportunities that can be capitalised on in the future, to complement the goals of the Forum.
Sharjah Tatweer Forum is an ambitious initiative aimed towards developing the skills and competencies of National youth in Sharjah, building partnerships between the private and public sectors, encouraging entrepreneurship, innovation and excellence in business and administration and ensuring the emirate’s overall progress. The Forum’s past year was marked by the successful launch of several new projects including the Tatweer Leadership Programme which was initiated with the objective of nurturing young talents in the public and private sector to achieve sustainable development and economic growth in the emirate. The programme also seeks to discover new talents, make use of their creativity and encourage the spirit of commitment and innovation.
The Sharjah Tatweer Forum was formed as per a decree issued by H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi. It aims to develop the skills and competencies of National youth in Sharjah, build partnerships between the private and public sectors, encourage entrepreneurship, innovation and excellence in the business and administrative arena and ensure the sustainable development and overall progress of the Emirate of Sharjah.
