ALBAWABA- Israeli media reported that five soldiers have been killed and more than 30 others injured in the past 24 hours due to ongoing clashes with Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
According to Channel 14, dozens of soldiers have been hospitalized following injuries sustained in battles near the northern border.
Incidents further compounded the toll, with four soldiers reportedly killed in a serious accident in Lebanon on Wednesday night, and another soldier killed in a separate incident the following morning.
Ziv Hospital in Safed confirmed that 30 wounded soldiers had arrived from various battlefields in the north during the holiday.
Hezbollah's military operations have included rocket and missile fire, with 130 rockets launched from Lebanon toward northern Israeli settlements today alone.
Additionally, Hezbollah reported downing an Israeli reconnaissance drone over the town of Talil in northern Lebanon’s Akkar region.
On the Lebanese side, health officials have confirmed 19 deaths and 118 injuries over the past 24 hours due to continued Israeli airstrikes, raising the total number of casualties since the escalation to 2,593 dead and 12,119 wounded.
Amid the intensifying conflict, the Israeli Army Chief of Staff suggested that the war on the Lebanon front could conclude soon, citing the elimination of Hezbollah’s top leadership.
However, Hezbollah continues to resist, with fighters fiercely countering Israeli advances and promising further escalation.
Hezbollah’s military media released a video vowing to retaliate against Israeli actions and honoring the memory of former Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in late September.
In a related diplomatic development, Israeli media noted that a high-level Russian delegation arrived in Israel, carrying a message from President Putin. Concurrently, a Hamas delegation was reported to be meeting with the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister in Moscow.
