Customers of car rental company Hertz UAE, part of the Al Futtaim Group, practised driving of a different kind when they took part in a golf tournament organised by the company.

More than 60 of Hertz UAE’s key corporate customers and staff teed off at the Hertz Invitational Golf Challenge held on the Desert Course at Arabian Ranches, Dubai last week.

Sixteen teams of four took part, playing in the golf competition format known as ‘Texas Scramble’, and the winning team walked away with the prize of three-day Hertz international car hire packages. The two runner up teams won free rounds of golf with a partner at the Tower Links Golf Club in Ras Al Khaimah.

Additional prizes were awarded for the shot closest to the pin, sponsored by Al Yousuf Motors, as well as for the longest drive. The Al Futtaim company Trading Enterprises – Honda came on board for the event as a hole sponsor.

Hertz UAE General Manager, Bob Farrow: “This is a way for us to give something back to our most loyal customers and have a bit of fun. We had teams of Hertz staff cheering on the players and giving out drinks and prizes at two of the holes, which created a fantastic atmosphere. The event was so successful that we now hope to have it every year.”

Hertz UAE is now one of the top car rental and leasing companies in the country and operates from 13 branches in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah.
