Haji Commercial Company LLC (HCC), which has been operational in the UAE for 20 years, focuses on the distribution of high quality electrical products, representing many of the world’s leading brands. During the recent Middle East Electricity Exhibition, at which it was joined by a number of its international brand partners, HCC outlined its on-going expansion plans which will see the company widening its operations and developing new facilities to maximise business efficiency.
“Our business in the UAE has grown greatly over the last 5 years - in addition to Dubai, we have an operation in Abu Dhabi and will soon open in Qatar and Ras Al Khaimah, further extending our network to cover new markets that offer great potential,” said Mr. Unni Krishnan, General Manager of HCC. “We are also currently establishing our own HCC Complex in the UAE - this will comprise our new UAE headquarters, offices and a logistics and distribution centre.”
“One of the main reasons for our participation at Middle East Electricity 2007 is that we are looking to develop overseas export opportunities, and the show gives us vital exposure to key decision makers from new markets that offer significant business potential,” he added. “This year’s show was fantastic for us – we literally lost count of the number of leads that came to us from suppliers and traders, and are negotiating some large scale supply contracts as a result of our participation, in which we were supported at the show by many of our international business partners.”
Among the many exciting products that HCC featured at the show were the specialised lamps and emergency lighting products from their UK associate Orbik, with whom they have been working for 10 years now. Orbik’s products utilise alternative light sources such as white LED’s as these are more energy efficient and better for the environment, as are their NiMh batteries, which are far less hazardous than the traditional Nickel Cadmium batteries.
The show also saw HCC actively promoting the high mast lighting and floodlights of CU Phosco, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of, and pioneers of high mast lighting. HCC have been working with CU, whose products have been part of virtually every major seaport and airport in the UAE since the 1970’s, for over 6 years. One major current project to feature CU’s high masts and floodlights is Phase 1 of the new Jebel Ali Airport in Dubai.
Another major international brand distributed by HCC in the Northern Emirates of the UAE is Sylvania, specifically their range of lamps and lighting fixtures, and the company has worked with this leading European brand for over a decade now. Demand for Sylvaina products is very high, and sales grew by over 50% last year – working closely with Sylvania, who will have a dedicated UAE Sales and Marketing Manager in place from March this year, HCC has built and strengthened the market position of both brands.
Middle East Electricity 2007 also saw HCC launching the marketing drive for Toshiba’s AC Variable Frequency Drives for HVAC applications that the company will be distributing throughout the Middle East.
HCC also has an active presence in low voltage switchgear panels, and distribution boards for various projects through its association with F&G of Austria, and HCC functions as a complete solutions provider as supplier to MEP projects as a result of its wide range, which includes Ducab Cables, Wai Ming Cable management Systems, SCAME industrial switches and sockets, etc.
“Middle East Electricity is the ideal place for us to promote the wide range of high quality lighting and lighting related products that we distribute, and is a powerful way for us to build our brands,” concluded Krishnan, “We have seen the show grow and develop into a world leading event for the energy industry, one that’s essential for our business, so our place at Middle East Electricity 2008 is already booked.”
