Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri on Wednesday used his short visit to Minsk to hold talks with his Belarussian counterpart on developing economic cooperation and the Middle East situation, reported the Daily Star.

Speaking at a press conference held jointly with President Alexander Lukashenko, Hariri said: “We have discussed ways of consolidating cooperation between the two countries. Lebanon being a state with a free economy, everything depends on the private sector.

“Accordingly, we discussed ways and means that the private sector can come here and methods of strengthening ties.”

In a meeting with Lukashenko earlier, Hariri said that Israel’s “aggressive behavior” would increase tension in the Middle East and the only solution was adherence to the Madrid Conference principles, namely land for peace and the implementation of UN resolutions – Albawaba.com
