The Palestinian Islamic resistance movement, Hamas, on Wednesday rejected remarks by visting British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw that London will not talk to Hamas until the latter renounce armed resistance against Israel.
Hamas leader in the West Bank, Sheikh Hasan Yousuf, described Straw's conditions as "arrogant and completely unrealistic." Speaking to PIC Wednesday, Yousuf noted that Palestinian resistnace was a "moral and national imperative."
"We will not drop our moral, religious and national constants jsut to have an audience with Straw and the likes of Straw."
"No one under the sun has the right to ask us to put an end to our resistance while the Israeli occupation remains entrenched in our cities and our land."
