ALBAWABA - The Hamas movement has asked international mediators to do more to make sure that Israel fully follows the terms of the Gaza ceasefire agreement. They say that Tel Aviv is purposely delaying and changing important parts of the deal.
Hamas said in a statement on Friday that steps need to be taken right away to finish putting together a community support committee to help manage Gaza's recovery from the war after two years of terrible Israeli aggression. The movement said that the goal was to bring back stability and help civilians whose lives had been destroyed.
Allegations of Israeli Breach
Hamas said that Israel was trying to shift blame by claiming that the ceasefire had been broken. The movement said it had returned all the bodies of hostages it could get to, but Israel's repeated bombings and refusal to give them equipment made it impossible to get to all the bodies that were buried under rubble.
Even though these efforts have been made, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu keeps making threats and questioning the agreement's credibility. At the same time, the Israeli government is breaking its own promises under the U.S.-brokered deal.
Hamas says that Israel's accusations are part of a larger effort to justify a possible return to military operations, which would make the region less stable and make it harder for the mediators to do their jobs.
The U.S. is involved, and Gaza's position is
Palestinian officials say that Hamas has kept every promise, including the ceasefire, prisoner exchanges, and withdrawal terms. U.S. President Donald Trump said he might let Israel attack Gaza again if Hamas "fails to comply."
Hamas asked Washington, Cairo, Doha, and Ankara to hold Israel responsible for its ongoing provocations and make sure that no more violence is allowed.
The statement said, "The cease-fire was meant to protect our people and give Gaza time to rebuild." "Israel must not be allowed to use the agreement as an excuse for war again."
The movement said again that it would stick to the ceasefire and national unity. It also said that the real test of peace is whether Israel keeps its promises, not whether Gaza stays strong.
