Four soldiers were killed and one more injured during a violent ambush on a security vehicle by ten gunmen in south Yemen.  The Abyan province has been a scene of many deadly protests in recent months against the central government of Yemen.

The mountainous Arabian Peninsula country has been battling a streak of al Qaeda attacks in the past two years in the south as well as a Shi’ite rebellion in the north.  Fears are growing that Yemen is quickly becoming a haven for Islamist militants.
