Gunman kills two in Turkey’s capital Ankara

An unidentified assailant shot and killed a police officer and a civilian bystander in central Ankara on Friday, according to reports by Turkish dialy Cumhuriyet and Reuters.

The shootout occurred in the Dikmen area of Ankara less than a week after a car bomb attack by a PKK-affiliated militant group killed 37 people in central Ankara.

No further details were given as to the identity of the attacker or affiliation with any militant groups active in Turkey.
