Gulf Air is proud to play host to the 95th International Airlines Technical Pool (IATP) Convention being held in Bahrain next week.

The IATP meet is hailed as a gathering of technical professionals from global aviation industry, who, in the spirit of cooperation, gather twice a year and discuss sharing of resources, while improving operating efficiency.

Under its auspices, members benefit from a wide range of services ranging from aircraft parts technical expertise to recovery kits and many more.

The IATP, established in 1948, is a convention of airlines made up of over 100 member airlines, 28 associate members including aircraft manufacturers such as Airbus and Boeing with over 400 members from the aviation industry on its roll.

"Gulf Air is proud to sponsor this international event of importance to the global aviation industry in its homeground, Bahrain," says Gulf Air Vice President Technical Abdulkhaliq Al Saeed.

"This is a unique opportunity for technical professionals from all around the world to meet, network, reunite with colleagues, discuss and share their industry knowledge in the most efficient manner. I am sure this conference will be a great resource for the participants to benefit from."

The conference, from 10 to 14 March, at Gulf Hotel’s Gulf International Convention Centre, will involve several technical sessions and workshops and discussions will include technical issues relating to the introduction of A380 and Boeing 787aircraft including spares provisioning, the business related to ground handling and ground maintenance equipment to aircraft recovery kit contents, certification of kits and potential kit providers.
"Gulf Air became a member of IATP in 1983 and ever since, has been actively involved in various projects groups within the IATP which has been of great benefit to Gulf Air in terms of savings and generating revenue in the field of Line Maintenance and aircraft spares,” says Gulf Air Manager  Maintenance and Business Development Moeen Al Bastaki.

A comprehensive workshop covering all the pooling principles and procedures within the IATP, broader scope of aircraft effectiveness and complexity of interchangeability as it affects avionics and common equipment has also been planned.

Over the years, the organisation, which contributes immensely to the aviation industry, promoting unparalleled safety in the skies and forging strong bonds between airlines around the world, has aimed at providing a global airline network to facilitate the exchange of ideas and cooperation.
